Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of 150 children this spring? If so, then we have a great opportunity for you! On March 22nd, 23rd and 24th, Allegheny Traditional Academy’s Elementary school is putting on a rendition of Willy Wonka Jr. for their spring musical. During tech week (the last week leading up to the performance) they are in need of feeding their cast dinners while they practice. In collaboration with the Pittsburgh Project we will be helping to provide these meals on Monday March 18th, Tuesday March 19th, Wednesday March 20th and Thursday March 21st. Below are the details of how you can get involved.
Like we have done with our winter shelter soup days, we will be having some volunteers purchase various ingredients for the meals, while others help cook and prepare the meals. Once meals are fully prepared, they will be transported to the school for the kids and teachers to enjoy.
Ways to Get Involved:
Donate Ingredients – Look at the list of needed ingredients below. If you can purchase those and drop them off to us, that would be extremely helpful! We will have multiple options for you to drop off based on your schedule.
Make/Purchase Bread or Desserts – Maybe you like to cook and would like to make bread or desserts for the meals. If so, we would be happy to take either one. You should plan on making about 2 dozen of your preferred product and then connect with us for delivery. We will have multiple options for you to drop off based on your schedule.
Cook the Meal – Lastly, we have need for volunteers to come and help us make the meals using the available ingredients. You will join us at the Pittsburgh Project (2801 N. Charles Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15214) between 3:00PM and 6:00PM on the assigned days. This opportunity is open to individuals and families.
