Can you believe that ALIVE 2014 is here again? We know that you all are excited about being a part of this special day, and we can’t tell you how excited we are to have you serve with us this year.

People serve at ALIVE for a number of different reasons. Some come because they have come every year in the past, and love everything about it. Some come because it’s right in their neighborhood, and they can’t help but be a part of all of the commotion. Some come to fulfill volunteer hours and school requirements. Some come because a friend or family member brought them. Whatever the reason, the important question is not why you come, but what you gain from the experience. Passing out clothes is fun (and needed), and serving food is admirable, but these are not the reasons we hold ALIVE. The reason ALIVE exists is so that people (both the homeless and our volunteers) can experience what it means to be ‘ALIVE’ in Christ. We fully expect that for some of you, your lives will never be the same again. God will stir your hearts and change the way you think about serving others. Some of you will be bombarded with emotions and feelings of discomfort from being very close to needy people. Some of you will have your hearts softened, and some will chose to harden their hearts. But one thing is for sure: everyone will be changed.

This may be the first time you have ever experienced anything like ALIVE before, or it may be something you are very familiar with. Either way, we ask that you come with an open heart and an open mind. This event is not just for the homeless. It is for you as well, as we believe that God will shower His love on you where you need it most.

We have reached our maximum number of volunteers, and unfortunately are no longer accepting volunteers for ALIVE 2014.

Please note: if you have already registered for ALIVE but have not yet sent in your volunteer registration form, please submit a form by Thursday, November 20th. You can find that form here
