Camp Clean-up: Saturday, February 16th
Please let us know if you are planning on joining us for our next Camp Clean-up:
Saturday, February 16th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
On Saturday, February 16th, we will be joining the Northside Homeless Alliance to clean up an outdoor homeless camp. We will need as many people as possible as we seek to fill dumpsters of trash from an abandoned homeless camp. Everyone is welcome to attend this clean up, but we ask that volunteers let us know if they are planning to come. Below are the details…
Where to go:
Chestnut Street Camp (park in lot at 898 S. Canal Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212). Walk under the underpass to the hillsides across from the Sarah Heinz House
When to arrive:
9:00 AM and we will finish around 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided
Volunteers must wear long pants and closed toed shoes
volunteers should bring work gloves if they have them (gloves will be provided for those who don't bring them)
All volunteers must sign a waiver. You can print off that waiver here
Because of the nature of possibly items that might be found, camp cleanups are not recommended for youth under the age of 16. Any minor will need parental/guardian consent to participate and will need to be supervised by that guardian at all times.
What to expect:
To have a good time! Just come ready to make some new friends and have an adventure. Dress for the weather, with closed toed shoes, and pants that can get dirty, and are appropriate for traversing hills, rocks, and mud. This event will take place rain or shine.

Cooking for Cold Weather Shelter
Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of 150 homeless men and women this winter? If so, then we have a great opportunity for you! On November 15th, Allegheny County’s Winter Emergency Shelters will open its doors for men and women. These shelters house about 150 men and women each night until March 15th. Because of the quality of our service this past winter, LIVING Ministry has been asked to serve more meals this upcoming year. Therefore, we are committing to serve on (8) Sundays from December 2nd to March 10th. It will take a lot of organizing, but we trust that this is an opportunity given to us by the Lord, and we want to take full advantage of it! There are ways for both individuals and groups to get involved. Please click here to get more information and sign up.
